Michael Bucella
Co-Founder and Managing Partner
Michael Bucella is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Neoclassic Capital, a global investment firm specializing in digital assets and blockchain technology, with a strategic focus on the United States and Asia. His career spans nearly two decades across institutional markets, alternative asset management, venture investing, and digital assets, giving him a differentiated perspective across traditional and crypto-native capital markets.
Before founding Neoclassic, Michael was a General Partner at BlockTower Capital. He joined the firm at its inception in 2017 and played a central role in building and scaling the organization into one of the earliest institutional digital asset investment firms. Backed by Andreessen Horowitz and Union Square Ventures, BlockTower grew to manage more than $1 billion across hedge fund, early-stage venture, growth equity, and credit strategies.
Michael began his career at Goldman Sachs in New York in 2008. He initially worked within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, focusing on cross-asset investment strategies for some of the firm’s largest institutional clients. He subsequently moved to the Securities Division, where he led the Institutional Global Equities business in Canada before helping build the firm’s Multi-Asset Platform, leading its Canadian business and contributing to its global expansion. In 2017, Michael left Goldman Sachs to pursue digital assets full-time and help launch BlockTower.
Michael has served on the Board of Directors of TeraWulf (Nasdaq: WULF) since March 2022. TeraWulf develops and operates large-scale digital infrastructure for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. He also advises leading financial institutions on digital asset strategy across banking and capital markets and serves as a mentor with Creative Destruction Lab.
Michael earned a B.S. in Finance, Economics, and Accounting from Fordham University.
