Co-Founder and Managing Partner

Michael Bucella co-founded Neoclassic Capital in 2024 after spending 6 years as a general partner at BlockTower Capital, a US-based institutional digital asset investment firm, backed by Andreessen Horowitz and Union Square Ventures. Michael joined BlockTower Capital shortly after the firm’s founding in 2017, leading the strategic expansion of the firm across multiple strategies (hedge funds, venture capital, credit, DeFi, and co-investments).

Michael began his career in the financial services industry in 2008, spending nearly 10 years at Goldman Sachs in New York. From 2008 to 2010, he served within Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“GSAM”), as a member of the cross-asset solutions team supporting the firm’s largest institutional clients. From 2010 through 2017, Michael served as Vice President in the Securities Division, where he led the global equities business in Canada working with the largest pension plans and asset managers in the region. He then developed and led the cross-asset business across Canada and was a founding member of the Multi-Asset Platform desk at Goldman Sachs, where he continued to head Canada, while leading the global expansion of the business.

Michael serves on the Board of Directors for Nasdaq-listed TeraWulf Inc. (“WULF”), an infrastructure-focused, zero-carbon Bitcoin mining company founded by long-time power and energy infrastructure entrepreneur, Paul Prager. He also serves as a mentor to the University of Toronto’s Creative Destruction Labs accelerator’s blockchain stream, since its inception in 2018.

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance & Accounting from Fordham University and is a member of the Fordham University President’s Council.
